Already the founder of the institution, Archbishop Jeglič, had desired to establish a music school as music played an important role in the students’ educational programme. The decision to establish a private music school resulted from the continual interest among students to study various musical instruments as well as solo singing. Besides students of the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium, children who are just beginning their music studies also can attend the Music School.

The Music School instructs the following instruments: piano, organ, guitar, zither, accordion, violin, violoncello, flute, clarinet, recorder, saxophone, trumpet, and French horn. There are also courses in solo singing, music theory, beginning musicianship, a children’s choir, the development of the art of music, harmony, solfeggio, and orchestra.
All instruments are taught by highly qualified teachers who devote special attention to students’ creativity.
